Forearm Walkers and Platform Rollators
A forearm rollator (also called a platform walker or arm support walker) lets you rest your forearms on padded platforms instead of gripping handles. Your weight is supported from elbow to wrist, which helps if you have arthritis or weak hands or wrists, can't put weight through your hands, or walk better in a more upright position.

The U-Step 2 Walking Platform adds forearm platforms to the U-Step walker, with its reverse braking system and U-shaped base for extra stability.
Adding a forearm platform to a walker
Drive makes forearm platforms that attach to a standard walker: the Drive forearm platform with mounting bracket, plus small and large Nimbo platforms.
How to choose
- Pad height. Stand up straight with your elbows bent at a right angle. The platform should meet your forearms at that height.
- Hand position. The Dolomite Alpha Advanced adjusts the most for individual hand and wrist positions.
- Weight to lift. The Legacy Forearm is the lightest at 15 lbs; the Alpha models are sturdier at 28 lbs.
Forearm walkers are often recommended by a physical or occupational therapist, so it helps to bring their measurements when you call.
