I just received my "champagne cane." Yes, I already have an adjustable cane and a foldable cane. They are both very pretty, but I dislike them both very much. Noise is the biggest problem.
My new cane is so quiet compared to the other canes. It's solid wood, which just makes me feel more secure, too. The length of the shaft is too long, but my husband will take care of that.
The derby handle is the way to go. It is very comfortable. Also........it's beautiful!! The swirly handle is full of interest and color. The golden shaft is attractive but not so outstanding that it becomes the center of attention.
My husband has a sharp-looking black cane with a swirly soft gray to black derby handle, which goes well with mine. I like to think that he is the tuxedo and I am the champagne.
If you have to use a cane, why not buy something that is very sound and serviceable, but also beautiful. You don't buy a cane every day.
