Umbrella Canes: You Don't Have to Be Caught Out in the Rain

An umbrella cane means you always have your umbrella with you when it starts to rain, instead of leaving it in the car or at home. There are two main types:

• Umbrellas with a hidden cane inside. A walking cane is fitted inside the shaft. Push a button to detach it, so you can walk with the cane and hold the umbrella open at the same time. See the black nylon cane umbrella and the blue and black plaid cane umbrella.
• Canes with an umbrella built in. A sturdy aluminum cane with a wood handle and rubber tip that opens as an umbrella. Choose the crook handle cane umbrella or the ladies derby handle cane umbrella (36 inches long; the ladies version can be cut down 4 inches).

Use a walker or wheelchair? Try an umbrella holder
